The popular Colombian multi-use hall “Gran Capra Americas Conferias” will host the World Weightlifting Championship 2022. It is located near Av. De las Americas in Bogota, Colombia. The event is expected to officially begin this Sunday, December 4, 2022. It will begin with an opening ceremony beginning at 3:00 a.m. ET.
The 2022 World Weightlifting Championship won’t have any tv broadcast partnership of any sort. As such, the event won’t be available on TV to watch in any country.

The event serves as a qualifying event for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. Carriers from Russia and Belarus are not competing after the embargo following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. North Korea is also not in the competition.

World Weightlifting Championship Preview
The World Weightlifting Championship is a long-running professional competition organized by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF). Since its inception in 1891, the event takes place regularly. In the beginning, the first thirty-five events took place not long ago. But after 1961, the event took place every year. Currently, this competition serves as a qualification for the Olympic Games.
The 2022 World Heavyweight Championship was announced this month. Colombia will accept it. The event will serve as a qualifying event for the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics in France. A total of 545 professional heavyweights will participate in the upcoming event. The competition will be held for men and women in 10 different weight categories.
