Laporta spoke again about Messi and his possible return to Barcelona

While Lionel Messi is in Argentina for the FIFA date where he celebrates with his teammates winning the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the big question marks the future of La Pulga after June. His contract with Paris Saint-Germain ends in the middle of the year and the star from Rosario must negotiate for his extension at PSG or with a new club, and the possible return to Barcelona always arises.

Both Sergi Roberto and Jordi Alba , two references for the Culé team, publicly expressed their desire that Leo wear the Blaugrana colors again. “Who is not going to be prepared for Messi’s return. We don’t want to talk too much because he, the president or the coach have to decide, but if it’s because of the players, we’re waiting for him,” said the right-wing defender . “I would like him to come back, it would be good for the club and for him ,” said the left-back.

Now, the one who appeared to express himself in this regard was Joan Laporta , the institution’s highest president. “I have to find a way to improve Messi’s current relationship with Barcelona. We’ll see, but he knows that he has the club’s doors open,” he told The Business And Money Behind Sports on YouTube. “Leo knows that we have him in our hearts, he is part of our shield. He is the best player in history and has been the most important player in the history of Barcelona. But he is a PSG player and I have to have respect,” he added .

Kun Agüero , a close friend of Lionel Messi , gave his opinion on the future of La Pulga and said that there are possibilities for him to return to Barcelona , the club where he wants him to retire. “I think Messi should retire at Barcelona. It’s his house and he would have to finish his career there. My feeling is that there is a 50% chance that he will return,” he asserted . “Like everyone, like the president came looking for me, it’s something normal. You can’t go introduce yourself and say ‘I want to play here’. It seems to me that the president is the one who has everything to do it and, if he does, it will be closer to returning”, he completed.

Messi for now only negotiates with PSG

While Lionel Messi ‘s contract with Paris Saint-Germain ends on June 30 and his future is unknown , rumors about his renewal, his return to Barcelona or his move to MLS were the strongest . The reality is that, at least until now, La Pulga only thinks about negotiating the extension of his relationship with PSG to stay in the elite and be able to fight for the Champions League .
