Asia Cup 2022 could be held in UAE amidst Sri Lanka will host the tournament

Sri Lanka's recent crisis is by no means normal. On the contrary, the condition of the country is getting worse. A state of emergency has been declared across the country since Monday. Amid such conditions, the Lankan cricket team is playing a two-match Test series against Pakistan. Australia cricket team has also been hosted before this.

However, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) is not able to hold the Asia Cup to be held next month in their own country.

Cricinfo, a popular media based on cricket, reported that the Asia Cup will be played in the United Arab Emirates, namely Dubai and Sharjah. However, Sri Lanka will host the tournament.

Sri Lanka's Jalani oil crisis has been shown as a major reason behind this. In spite of this situation, the Lankans were optimistic about hosting the Asia Cup in their country.

But as there is no sign of improvement in the situation, the Asia Cup is being moved to the United Arab Emirates, keeping Sri Lanka as the host. This year's Asia Cup of T20 format with the participation of a total of 9 teams including qualifiers. The main event will run from August 27 to September 11.

Confirming the news of the move to the UAE, the SLC chief executive said, 'Welcoming two teams and welcoming ten teams is not the same. You have to fuel ten different (team) buses. Each team's luggage van must also be fueled. Fuel should also be provided for the floodlight generator.'

The Asia Cup schedule will be officially announced next Friday (July 22). India and Pakistan may meet twice in the league stage.

So taking everything into account, Sri Lanka will be the host and the Asia Cup will be played in the United Arab Emirates. As a result, the Asia Cup will be played in the Emirates for the second time in five years.
