The German Masters was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place from 26 to 30 January 2022. Trump won the tournament for the first time in 2020, beating Neil Robertson 9-6 in the final.

The competition will be the 10th positioning occasion of the 2021-22 snooker season and will be the sixteenth version of the German Masters, first held in 1995 as the 1995 German Open.

Judd Trump will be the defending champion after defeating Jack Lisowski 9–2 in the 2021 final. Thepchaiya Un-Nooh made a 147 break in the second frame of his first qualifying round match with Fan Zhengyi.

World number one Trump is aiming for his third consecutive title in this event having lifted the trophy in 2020 and 2021, but will face tough competition from the likes of World Champion Selby and former Crucible kings Williams, Murphy and Robertson.
