Canelo Alvarez could end the year fighting… against Jake Paul!

Canelo Alvarez could be back in the boxing ring before the end of the year following his convincing win over Jermall Charlo in his last fight.

Initially, the Mexican fighter was not planning on returning to the ring before spring, but now things are different, according to Inaky Arzate of Televisa.

After renewing his licence as a boxer with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, Canelo is set to put his gloves back on against American Jake Paul on December 30, as part of an event promoted by TBG Promotions.

The stage would be the spectacular Las Vegas Sphere, which was recently opened and has seen U2 make amazing use of the venue.

Jake Paul has always expressed his desire to fight Canelo Alvarez, something that has not happened yet due to the Mexican’s disinterest in fighting the influencer.

“Logan [Paul] fought Floyd [Mayweather] and one day I will fight Canelo and show the world why I am the best sports story ever. See you soon Saul. The challenge is real,” Jake Paul said in the past.

What is happening with the Canelo vs Benavidez fight?

So far, there has been much talk about the possibility of Canelo Alvarez finally taking on David Benavidez in his next fight, although there are other options on the table as well.

The last word will be left to the Mexican and his immediate team.
