The greatest club soccer competition is almost back. The Champions League is about to get underway and the most important date, the final, is already known.
On June 1, 2024, two clubs will look to claim European honors at Wembley Stadium.
Champions League draw schedule 2023-24
Before this, the draw for the group stage must first take place. The draw will take place on August 31, at 18:00 CEST (12:00 ET).
Although the groups have not yet been drawn, the same rules as previous draws remain.
There will be four teams per group, taking into account that teams from the same country cannot play each other in the group stage, nor teams that are part of the same pot.
There are 32 teams in the competition, divided into eight groups made up of four teams each, with each club from a different pot.
The Champions League pots are as follows
- Pot 1: Manchester City, Sevilla, Bayern Munich, PSG, Barcelona, Benfica, Napoli and Feyenoord.
- Pot 2: Real Madrid, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, RB Leipzig, Porto and Arsenal.
- Pot 3: Shakhtar Donetsk, Salzburg, Milan, Lazio, Red Star, (Real Sociedad and Celtic (provisional teams)) (Draw not defined).
- Pot 4: Lens, Newcastle, Union Berlin (Draw not defined)
Champions League matchdays
Once the eight groups are decided, six matchdays will be played on the following days:
- Matchday 1 19-20 September 2023.
- Matchday 2 3-4 October 2023
- Matchday 3 24-25 October 2023
- Matchday 4 7-8 November 2023
- Matchday 5 28-29 November 2023
- Matchday 6 12-13 December 2023
