Former Giants quarterback Anthony Wright has been hospitalized as a result of being shot multiple times in North Carolina, per The Independent Tribune.

Wright’s condition is stable, per the Concord Police Department. He was taken into surgery after being found with multiple gunshot wounds after a 911 call at 12:49 p.m. on Monday.

According to police, Wright and his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend had a verbal spat that escalated when the man came to drop off his daughter. Concord Police have identified William “Willie” Moses Hooker Jr. as the shooter, and issued a warrant for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill.

Wright played for four NFL teams over the course of an eight-year career. He and Jared Lorenzen were Eli Manning’s backups in 2007, when the Giants went on a Super Bowl run.

Wright started 19 games in his career, none of which came in New York. His football career ended after the Super Bowl with the Giants.
