'His Dark Materials' Final Season 3 Renewed at HBO and BBC

The 'His Dark Materials' will conclude its second season Monday, December 28 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and BBC.  HBO and BBC One have announced a third season for the fantasy drama series “His Dark Materials,” with production on eight new episodes slated to begin in Cardiff, Wales in 2021.

The arrangement, which depends on the set of three of books of a similar name by Philip Pullman, closed its second season in the UK on Sunday (December 20) and the BBC has affirmed that creation is because of start on the third season, which will comprise of eight scenes, in Cardiff in 2021.

Broadcasting on HBO on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, His Dark Materials Season 2 stars Dafne Keen as Lyra, Amir Wilson as Will Parry, Ruth Wilson as Marisa Coulter, Lin-Manuel Miranda as Lee Scoresby and Andrew Scott as John Parry. The Season 2 finale airs Monday, Dec. 28 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO.

HIS DARK MATERIALS is created by Bad Wolf in relationship with New Line Cinema for BBC One and HBO. Chief creating the arrangement are Jane Tranter, Dan McCulloch, Joel Collins and Julie Gardner for Bad Wolf; Philip Pullman, Jack Thorne, Tom Hooper; Deborah Forte, Toby Emmerich and Carolyn Blackwood for New Line Cinema; and Ben Irving for the BBC.
