Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Zhang rematch at UFC 275

Joanna Jedrzejczyk realizes she needs to change her methodology against Weili Zhang at UFC 275.

The previous strawweight champ, Jedrzjeczyk, hasn't battled since UFC 248 in March of 2020 when she dropped a split choice to Zhang for the belt. It was perhaps the best battle ever and presently, in front of the rematch, Jedrzejczyk knows what she fouled up. She really wants to battle more brilliant this time around in Singapore.

"I should be a piece more brilliant," Jedrzejczyk said on a UFC 275 phone call. "I will return. I'm exceptionally glad to get my second battle with Weili Zhang and go for the belt just later. Last battle was extremely close, and the choice could go one way or the other. I felt as I did what's necessary in the main battle. She was the champion around then, so some of the time you need to accomplish other things to beat the hero. Yet, I feel like I gave all I had in Vegas in March 2020, so we're dealing with certain things. We're honing a few instruments."

Although Joanna Jedrzjeczyk is coming off a lengthy layoff. Still, she remains one of the top-ranked strawweights, and she knows that if she beats Weili Zhang, she will get a title shot. However, she knows that is easier said than done. Nonetheless, she remains confident she will get her hand raised and then fight for the belt next time out.

“I just have to stay calm, be smarter, bring all my tools to the Octagon, and I will win,” Jedrzjecyzk said. “I will get this victory and go for the belt right after.”

If Jedrzejczyk does defeat Zhang on June 11, it does seem likely that she will get a title shot. She is the former champ and already has a win over Carla Esparza. That said, the road to the title still has to go through Zhang at UFC 275.
