Liverpool's Thiago Alcantara has injured his leg muscle. Liverpool are not getting this Spanish midfielder in the next two matches.
Thiago was in the starting XI for the team's 3-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League last Saturday. The coach picked him up in the second half.
The club's website reported the 30-year-old's injury on Monday.
The league champions of the 2019-20 season will not find him in the League Cup against Norwich City on Tuesday and against newcomer Brentford in the Premier League next Saturday.
Thiago has been injured as Liverpool's second midfielder in recent matches. Earlier, Harvey Elliott injured his ankle against Leeds United. Surgery is done later.
Liverpool are top of the league with 13 wins in four wins and one draw after five rounds.
