Earlier this season, Argentine star forward Mauro Icardi joined French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on loan from Italian club Inter Milan. He was scheduled to return to Italy at the end of the season.
But that did not happen. Icardi has recovered from his side this season after being disrupted by the coronavirus. He has agreed to stay in PSG for at least 4 seasons.
Icardi, who is at the top of the form, signed for PSG on loan from Inter last September. He also showed a glimpse of his form in the PSG jersey. Icardi scored 20 goals in 31 appearances for PSG before the French League One was suspended on April 30.
Due to which PSG has decided to keep him. To get him from Inter, PSG had to pay 50 million as transfer fee and another 8 million as an additional add-on, a total of 56 million Euros.
PSG has signed Icardi for the next 4 seasons. The contract will expire on June 30, 2024. Meanwhile, PSG’s contract with Edinson Cavani is coming to an end on June 30 this year. That’s why the club was looking for a forward.
