Mike Tyson paid tribute to boxing legend Muhammad Ali in the Halloween of 2023 by dressing up as a bee, in a possible nod to the late boxer’s iconic quote.
Known for his wit and smart remarks, Ali most famously described his graceful but effective fighting style as “float[ing] like a butterfly, sting like a bee.” It has become a timeless quote and one boxing fans often refer to when they’re discussing fighters.
One of Ali‘s most famous admirers is ‘Iron’ Mike, who was also a heavyweight champion between 1987 and 1990 and as he donned a full-body bee costume, he could be paying tribute to his idol who died in 2016.
He may have even paraphrased Ali, of the combatants in ‘The Fight of The Century’, by captioning his post as “Happy Halloween. Bee the force that cannot bee stopped.”
Tyson is similarly known for being able to produce poetry with his words and once famously said about Ali, “I know I’m great, but can I tell you something? In this situation, every head must bow, every tongue must confess, this is the greatest of all time.”

Tyson called Ngannou’s impressive boxing debut
Francis Ngannou, formerly a UFC heavyweight champion, took his first boxing fight on Saturday, October 28 in what many expected to be a baptism by fire against the reigning WBC (boxing) heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury.
But it would be the Cameroonian who would emerge with sky-high stocks after a third round knockdown stunned fans, with many believing the split decision victory for Fury was the wrong call.
Whilst it was Ngannou‘s night in the spotlight, Tyson, who trained him for the bout, was aware of the potential he had.
“Everybody’s going to know your name,” Tyson said to Ngannou during a 2019 interview on “Hotboxin” podcast. “You’re the future. You’re special.”
