NYU Baseball and Softball Represented on All-Region Teams

Baseball and softball understudy competitors were as of late regarded by the American Baseball Coaches Association and National Fastpitch Coaches Association when the associations delivered their All-Region grants.

Baseball's Grant Berman and Connor Roggero both arrived on the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region 4 Third Team while softball's Erin Scott procured a spot on the NFCA Region IV Third Team.

Berman, a First Team All-UAA catcher, batted .305 on the season with 12 multi-hit games and led the team in most offensive statistical categories. He also threw out 15 baserunners, which ranked second in the UAA, while his seven home runs are the third most in a single season in program history. The senior tied for second in the UAA in extra base hits (20), ranked fourth in slugging percentage (.627) and tied for fourth in both home runs and total bases (74).

Roggero was also an All-UAA honoree as a Second Team outfielder after a stellar junior season. He showcased his speed as he tied for third in the UAA in steals (18) and eighth in triples (2). The California native compiled 10 multi-hit outings, including four straight in mid-April, leading to a .340 batting average which ranked 11th in the Association. Roggero also tied for 11th in the league in slugging (.495) and placed 13th in RBIs (25).

Scott, a senior transfer, garnered Second Team All-UAA status as well and was the Violets' most potent bat all year long. She led the UAA in batting average (.414) as the only student-athlete in the league to hit over .400. Scott's .646 slugging percentage and .465 on-base percentage both ranked third in the UAA while her 29 RBIs tied for sixth and five home runs tied for eighth.

She recorded a hit in all but seven of her 33 appearances and had a nine-game hit streak in March. The outfielder notched 10 multi-hit games and homered in both ends of the team's season finale doubleheader against Hunter on May 3.

The ABCA/Rawlings All-Region teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. III All-America Committee. In the NFCA, member head coaches nominate and vote for winners in their respective region.
