History Of Oceania Rugby Under 20 Championship

The idea of public foals groups started in 1955 when a New Zealand Under 21 group visited Australia and Ceylon (Sri Lanka beginning around 1972) and won every one of the nine matches. Colin Meads was on the visit.

Somewhere in the range between 1955 and 2007 the New Zealand U21 group played 151 games and had 117 successes, and that remembers two World Under 21 Championship victories in 2003 and 2004. Regularly the Colts would play inside against neighborhood resistance.

In 2008 the ongoing manifestation of worldwide U20 play started. New Zealand has formed a 49-12 record in the World Championship winning multiple times from 2008 to 2011 and again in 2015 and 2017. That is the best record of any country at the occasion.

It's significant too that the World Under 19 Championships were challenged somewhere in the range of 1999 and 2007 with New Zealand winning the competition in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2007. They won 34, drew 2 and lost 3 games.

Will Jordan, Luke Jacobson, Julian Savea, Damian McKenzie, Stephen Donald, Sam Cane, Beauden Barrett, Codie Taylor, Brad Weber and TJ Perenara are only a portion of the All Blacks to go through the U20 group
