The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed two people to enrich the coaching team considering the English conditions. Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan has been appointed as the batting coach and former spinner Mushtaq Ahmed as the spin consultant.
Younis Khan’s wealth of experience is quite rich. Younis Khan is considered to be one of the best batsmen in the history of Test cricket in Pakistan. In his 17-year career, he has played 117 Tests and scored 10,099 runs at an average of 52. He also holds the record for the most Test centuries against 11 nations. He played 9 Tests in English condition and scored 810 runs at an average of 51.
Younis is happy to be able to work in Pakistan cricket again in a new role. I am happy to have the opportunity to serve the country again, but I am looking forward to the challenging England tour. ‘
He sees great potential for Pakistan in the England tour. The 42-year-old former captain is hopeful that the Pakistan cricket team has some very talented cricketers who have a bright future. Together with Misbah-ul-Haq, Mushtaq Ahmed, and Waqar Yunus, we will try to bring out the best in them.
On the other hand, Mushtaq Ahmed has played 52 Tests and 144 ODIs in Pakistan’s jersey. He has also worked as a spin coach for the England and West Indies national teams outside the country.
