Sep. 18—The Bemidji High School girls tennis team saw five matches go to a third set on Monday in Thief River Falls.
The Lumberjacks won three of them, though they came up one point short of a team victory in a 4-3 loss.
BHS swept the doubles matches. Elena and Elizabeth Peterson beat Piper Greene and Brianne Ellison 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 at No. 1 singles. Kendal Midboe and Sam Wood also bounced back after a second-set loss to win 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (7-5). Megan Berg and Ruby McKeon battled back from a first-set loss to win in three over Anna Lunsetter and Samantha Rodahl.
TRF won in two sets over the Jacks at Nos. 1 and 2 singles before winning at Nos. 3 and 4 in three sets.
