Former Pakistan cricketer and commentator Ramiz Raja has been named the new chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). He was appointed chairman of the country's cricket board at a special meeting of the board of governors at the National High Performance Center in Lahore on Monday.
Former PCB chairman Ehsan Mani was removed due to his incompetence. After that, the idea of replacing him with another one had been going on for some time. However, only Ramiz Rajai submitted nomination papers. The Prime Minister of Pakistan and Patron-in-Chief of the PCB, Imran Khan, nominated him directly on August 26.
As a result, Ramiz will take over as the 30th chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board. He will be the fourth cricketer after Ijaz Butt, Javed Burki and Abdul Hafeez Kardar to take over the board.
This is Ramiz's second round of work with the PCB. Prior to that, he was the Chief Executive Officer of the PCB from 2003 to 2004. Although he was not in charge for a long time.
