Saquon Barkley, who has been embroiled in a battle with his team over his extension, finally agreed to a one-season deal on Wednesday worth up to $ 11 million, subject to how well he performs in 2023.
Surprise! 🚨 🚨 🚨
The #Giants and star RB Saquon Barkley agreed to terms on a new 1-year deal worth up to $11M, sources say, as Barkley gives himself a chance to beat the franchise tag. He gets a $2M signing bonus.

Even if Saquon Barkley sought a long-term deal, the size of the contract is what really raises concerns, not its short duration: an additional million dollars if he surpasses 1300 yards in the race, 11 touchdowns, and 65 receptions. 10.1 million totally guaranteed, exactly the amount of the franchise tag he had already agreed to.
Barkley is coming off a productive season with 1,312 rushing yards, 10 touchdowns and 57 receptions. Overall, he will therefore have to repeat his good 2022 season to receive his maximum contract.
A good deal for the Giants who don’t get wet with this bet, and avoid a strike from the player.
