After a few days of drama and uncertainty, Shakib Al Hasan is not going to tour South Africa in the end. Not only this tour, for the time being, BCB has rested the experienced all-rounder from all types of cricket.

The Bangladesh cricket team will travel to South Africa on Friday to take part in the bilateral series. Shakib has left for Dubai on a private visit just before his arrival. Before leaving, he said, he is not mentally fit to play now.

In this regard, BCB director Jalal Yunus said, "Considering Shakib's own interests, we have made a decision that he needs to be rested." We have agreed to rest him from all forms of cricket till April 30. I told him that he could rest till April 30.

"We tried to get him in all kinds of cricket," he said. But he should not be forced. He has repeatedly said, ‘I am not enjoying, mentally unfit, not ready.

Asked if any cricketers would be included in the squad for the tour of South Africa instead of Shakib, Jalal Yunus said a few more cricketers besides the 16-member squad were going to South Africa, some of them would be added to the squad.
