The Eckerd sailing team competed at the SAISA Coed Team and Fleet Race Championships over the weekend, placing fourth and fifth, respectively. The Tritons finished fourth at the team race championships with a 4-6 record.

SAISA Coed Championships Preview
Sean Tallman, Eden Nykamp, and Griffin Richardson skipped the boats with Brooks Jordan, Josh Cole, and Elissa Martinez as crew. EC opened with four victories in the first round with wins over Citadel, Florida State, Jacksonville, and NC State. However, Eckerd collected three losses in the playoff races.
Charleston won the team race championship with a 10-0 record.
Eckerd placed fifth at the fleet race championships with 36 points. Due to shifty wind conditions, the regatta only featured three races.
Sean Tallman skippered the A Division with Griffin Richardson (1-2) and Sophia Hacket (3) as crew for 19 points, with fourth, ninth, and sixth-place finishes over the three races.
Eden Nykamp and Amelia Johnson comprised the B Division finishing with 17 points following a pair of fifth place and a seventh-place finish.
NC State won the SAISA Fleet Race Championship with 12 points.
Eckerd returns to the water next weekend at the Rudolph Oberg Trophy in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
