Tritons Ranked No. 24 in Final Coaches Poll

The Eckerd women's basketball team came in at No. 24 in the final WBCA Coaches Poll.

The Tritons finished the year with a 21-5 record and made their fifth consecutive appearance in the NCAA South Region Tournament, where EC appeared in the semifinals for just the second time in program history after defeating Florida Southern, 69-64.

Eckerd reached as high as No. 12 in the coaches poll and as high as No. 15 in the media poll this season. The Tritons set a program record for the best start to the season at 9-0.

EC's defense ends the season ranking seventh in defensive field goal percentage (33.9) and eighth in scoring defense (54.9) in Division II. Maya Price ranked 23rd in blocked shots (60).

Offensively, Eckerd ranked 18th in field goal percentage (44.8) and 24th in assists per game (15.9). Persson ranked 10th in free throw percentage (88.4) while Hannah Wentworth ranked eighth in 3-point field goal percentage (43.1), and Price ranked 24th in field goal percentage (54.4). Lauryn Vieira ranked 12th in the nation with 153 assists.

Glenville State (WV) earned all 22 first-place votes as the unanimous No. 1 after capping the season with a national championship win over Western Washington.
