Whatmore resigns as head coach of Nepal cricket

Umesh Patwal stepped down as Nepal's head coach in February last year. After nearly a decade, Dave Whatmore was appointed to the post by the Cricket Association of Nepal.

The coach who won the 1996 World Cup for Sri Lanka is also leaving the post of Nepal. He has decided to step down as Nepal's head coach to give time to his family.

Dave Whatmore, the one-time coach of the Bangladesh cricket team, has decided to step down as head coach of the Nepal cricket team. He told the Cricket Association of Nepal that he had made the decision to give time to his family.

Dave Whatmore will step down as head coach of Nepal after the conclusion of the ICC Cricket World Cup League Two Series in Oman next month. He submitted his resignation letter to the Nepal Cricket Association on Friday (August 26th). He requested to be released immediately after Nepal's last match in the tournament on September 19.

The eminent Sri Lankan World Cup winning coach has also served as the head coach of the national teams of Bangladesh, Pakistan and Zimbabwe.
