Williamson dropped out of the second Test due to COVID-19

After the first Test loss against England, another piece of bad news came to the New Zealand camp.

New Zealand captain Ken Williamson has been ruled out of the second Test due to a corona. The second Test will start at 4 pm Bangladesh time on Friday at Trent Bridge. Earlier, all-rounder, Colin D'Grandhome was ruled out of the series due to an ankle injury.

New Zealand Cricket said in a statement that their country's best batsman Ken Williamson will be in five-day isolation.

Tom Latham has been named captain of the second Test in his place. Experienced opener Hamish Rutherford will replace Williamson.

New Zealand coach Gary Stead said: "It is unfortunate that Ken could not play in such an important match. We all understand his pain. And I know how frustrated he is. England beat New Zealand by five wickets at Lord's last Sunday to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The third Test will start on June 23.
